Corrado Giacomel Mandolin
This mandolin is made by Corrado Giacomel from Genoa, Italy. It's "X" braced, which gives it a mellower sound. I've played it on some recording sessions recently and it works well. On the "Traveler" CD, I played it when a second mandolin part was required - like the tremolo parts on the song "Travelers" and the straight rhythm part on "Turn The Page Again". Giacomel makes mandolins in more traditional shapes, but he calls this shape his "Jazz" model. The art deco look is reminiscent of Rickenbacker guitars and lap steels.
